Parents of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in the Algarve on May 3, 2007

'Madeleine', the book written by Kate McCann, arrives in bookstores today in Portugal. This is the testimony of a mother who struggled with the guilt that accompanies it today.

In an interview with DN, Kate and Gerry talk about the unshakable belief that they have in the theory of the kidnapping of his daughter and hope in the review of the case by Scotland Yard. Gonçalo Amaral criticized for advocating "no evidence" that Madeleine is dead, though they acknowledge that there is no evidence she was abducted

"It was a man who took Madeleine '

Kate explained that she wanted to write this book to tell the truth about the disappearance of her daughter.

Why are you so sure that Madeleine was abducted?

Kate -
I wrote very clearly why, never had any doubts that someone took her. And it shows by how I described the room and as I found with the windows open.

Gerry -
We must keep an open mind regarding the possible scenarios. Do we have absolute certainty is that it was a man who took her. But we do not know whether he acted alone or why it took Madeleine.

This conviction comes from sightings of suspicious men in the village before and the day of the disappearance?

Kate -
The sightings were referring to people who came in with men report having seen suspicious behavior in the village, near the day of her disappearance. It is a pity that these men have not yet been identified. It is crucial for research that might be identified to be eventually eliminated from the investigation.

Scotland Yard is reviewing the process. They hope this contribution?

Gerry -
Absolutely. Two and a half years that we were asking for the review process. We are very pleased to have the experience and expertise of men from Scotland Yard. May bring a fresh look and ideas on the areas that failed in the investigation.

But only if they find something very important is that the case could be reopened in Portugal ...

Gerry -
Yes, our advisors Portuguese were very clear about this. If the process were to be formally reopened, will be given continued research. Kate and I always thought there were ways to proceed with the fundamental line of research [kidnapping].

Kate, it is noted in his book a strong emotional response to the book of Gonçalo Amaral, former coordinator of research, which claims that Madeleine died in that room. Questioned, and I quote, "why a retired police want to tell the world that a missing child is dead." Have you found the answer?

Kate -
You have to ask Gonçalo Amaral. I know that every parent in our situation would find it unbearable that we passed.

But Goncalo Amaral was limited to defending a thesis, as Kate defended the abduction of the book he wrote ...

Kate -
I wrote the book to help find Madeleine, giving more money to the Fund. Just find it incredibly surprising that a former coordinator of the Judicial Police say Madeleine died without proof.

There is also no evidence that your daughter has been kidnapped. Gonçalo Amaral condemn the theory because it implies you?

Gerry -
As you know we have taken legal proceedings against him. There are huge gaps in the theory of Gonçalo Amaral. In some respects that focused became ridiculous, to be quite frank.

The book criticizes quite the Portuguese investigation. If Madeleine had gone on British soil would have been different?

Gerry -
In England there would have been perhaps more sensitive to the case, because they have had experience with this kind of kidnapping. There are recent cases in the last three years in the UK.

The British prime minister David Cameron has supported your application for review of the process. The former prime minister Gordon Brown arrived to call you to give your support. They feel they have special treatment, comparing with other parents in the same situation?

Kate -
We must remember that Madeleine is a British citizen. It does not seem unreasonable that the government helps.

Gerry -
Before all this happened, we had no connection to the British Government. The fact that it is a very rare case of abduction, a tourist village, clearly attracted the attention of public opinion. And we are grateful for all the help we received.

Kate, Madeleine appeared today, what would you say?

Kate -
I just wanted to hug her, just wanted to hug her ...

Gerry -
Madeleine, we love you very much and will not give up looking for you.

"In England there would have been perhaps greater sensitivity "

Gerry and Kate McCann guarantee that they will not stop looking for her daughter, now 8 years

Condenam Gonçalo Amaral porque a teoria dele vos implica?

Gerry - Como sabe tomámos procedimentos legais contra ele.

O livro critica bastante a investigação portuguesa.
