  • Write scoundrel
    6 July 2008
"From the very first day Madeleine McCann disappeared the Portuguese police botched the investigation. So after failing to find Maddie, let alone her kidnappers, you would think the one thing they have learned is to button their mouths. Yet Goncalo Amaral, the Chief Inspector Clueless sacked for incompetence, is still hurling wild and unproven allegations around. And that can only be in an attempt to line his grubby pockets by promoting the book he plans to publish about the case. No matter how strong both Gerry and Kate McCann are, this tarnished copper's bid to cash in on the tragedy must still hurt. If we thought it would do any good, we would appeal to Amaral's better nature to leave them in peace. But we very much doubt he has one."

Lisbon Appeals Court ruling overturned book ban October 2010 NOT REPORTED

The following article is a timeline of key events in the Madeleine McCann case. The timeline includes the original ban on "The Truth of the Lie" obtained by the McCanns yet OMITS the Lisbon Appeals Court ruling overturning the ban. The timeline goes on to list LATER events - completely disregarding the important October ruling.
(Note: ONE MONTH after the Lisbon Appeals court ruled to lift the ban on "The Truth of the Lie", Sam Marsden (who has written over 40 articles related to the McCann battle to ban the book) finally refers to the court ruling in favor of Amaral.  As you will see by analysing this list, Marsden immediately reported the McCann's successes in Sept 2009 and Feb 2010. CLEARLY  the Press Association has been guilty of CENSORING the news.  There is no logical reason that the delay/omission is anything but DELIBERATE. )
